Saint Patricks Day & Green Beer

Perhaps my favorite holiday that isn't an official holiday, and believe me I am pushing for it, Saint Patrick's Day. An excuse for the entire world to turn Irish for a day. However lucky me, I' don't have to look far to claim an Irish status.

Yes that's right Ladies and Gents yours truly is quite proud of his ancestry. I'm made of up of generations of drinkers, farmers, soldiers, miners oh..  and the Dutch.

I was raised to be proud of an ancestry and believe me I am. English, Irish, Scottish and of course Dutch. But since I so cleverly titled this blog already I'm here to talk about the one country where the mere mention of its name brings to mind many things usually all based around my favorite topic. BEER!

Generations of beer guzzling men all drinking around centuries old wood at a local tavern, singing songs of young and old, laughing, crying and generally being merry brings a tear to my eye...  OK not really, but it's a nice thought isn't it?

Whether or not Saint Patrick would approve of such a world wide celebration of debauchery and the wearing of green should be left to people that I probably would never care to meet.

Back to my favorite part..  The Beer.

Ireland, home to the worlds most recognizable beer. Guinness. Which is also in my mind the worlds best. But I am always up for the challenge to be proven wrong and will try anything you throw in front of me that comes in a 20 ounce pint and you call beer. And I don't care what you might say "swill" is just another term coined for piss poor beer that tastes like something Anthony Bordaine would eat at a Korean Barbecue and chickens on the menu.

As it turns out I am told by the "powers that be" that keep giving me suggestions to write articles on that "Green Beer" is one of the most searched words on Google.

I thought about this for a moment and pondered the meaning of this..   Could that many people world wide really be in some sort of doubt on how green beer is made. Were legions of beer drinkers around the globe brought up on Pixy dust and Disney? When I saw the numbers myself I thought my eyes had deceived me.

So like every kid that realises that mom and dad were liars and that Santa never really existed I thought I would spoil this magic moment. Are you ready.

Food Colouring!

Green to be exact. That's it. As for the amount...  well like my mother always said "Corey you over do everything"...   So add shit loads, tons, go overboard, take that food colouring bottle and go to town. Paint the city green. Show the world just how Irish you and your beer of choice can be.

The beautiful thing about my U-Brew, I can do green beer 365 days a year. You ask, and you shall receive. I'll even dye it purple for you if that's what you require. Your beer needs is what I'm here for.

So enjoy this once a year occasion. Drink, sing, smile, laugh and guzzle as much green beer as possible. Rejoice in your friends and family.

Saint Patrick's Day. My favorite day of the year. Now if I could petition for the following day off, it would save a lot of people from calling in sick and having to lie to their boss's. So come on Canada and get with the program. We could use another holiday. So speak to your local MLA..

Happy Saint Patrick's day.
